Henk-Jan Koenen

Henk-Jan Koenen (Dutch – born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands) has served as the President of DSM Desotech Inc. since March 2006. DSM Desotech is the global leader in the development and manufacturing of UV-curable protective coatings for fiber optic materials.

Mr. Koenen has worked with DSM since joining the Chemicals Division of Royal DSM in 1987 where he was responsible for purchasing in the Petrochemicals Area. From 1990 to 1993, he served as Area Sales Manager in DSM’s Fine Chemical Division. Thereafter he became Business Manager in the same Division. In 1997, Henk-Jan joined Corporate Management Development and was responsible for Global Career Development of the Commercial Disciplines.

In 2000, Mr. Koenen was appointed President of DSM Melamine Americas Inc. based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After a three-year assignment, he became President of DSM Copolymer Inc. in the same city.

Mr. Koenen studied Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Nijenrode in Breukelen, the Netherlands. He served in the Dutch Navy for almost 2 years, and is married with three children.
